Pruritus Vulvae
This is the medical name for itchy vulva, which refers to the labia, clitoris and the area around the vaginal opening.
Our Bella Flore Clotrimazole Vaginal Cream can be applied to most vaginal yeast (candida) infections. However, not every vaginal infection is caused by yeast, so if you are experiencing external vulvar itch, it is important to visit your doctor to help identify the cause.
Women experience a slight vulval itch now and again. However, pruritus vulvae means the itch is persistent and causes distress. The itch may be particularly bad at night and may disturb your sleep. Vulval itching can affect any woman, at any age. It can lead to scratching and rubbing which can break the skin and can lead to soreness, bleeding and skin infections. Itching of the vulva can be caused by many different issues from soap or perfume allergies, thrush or sexually transmitted infections, due to excessive sweating, condoms, wet wipes or sanitary wear. In diabetics the vulval area can become infected if sugar levels are not controlled. With menopausal women, with lower oestrogen levels the valve skin can become thinner and drier and is prone to itching.
Try our Bella Flore Anti Fungal Cream to help alleviate the itch, but remember that an itchy vulva is a symptom, not a condition in itself, we encourage you to see your doctor if the itching does not subside. Our formula contains aloe vera to help moisture and calm the skin..
Four formulas to help soothe and calm the skin: Tropical Breeze, Romantic Mist, Fresh Scent and Fragrance-Free.
