Tolnaftate is used to treat skin infections such as athlete's foot, jock itch, and ringworm. Tolnaftate cream is an antifungal. It works by blocking the growth of fungi that cause skin infections. This active ingredient works on treating fungal infection and preventing certain fungal infections of the skin (eg, athlete's foot). It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.
This helps to relieve the burning, itching, and cracking associated with fungal infections of the skin such as athlete's foot.
Avoiding getting foot fungas is the best strategy as its hard to get rid of once you have it. Best advice on avoiding this is to:
- Keep your feet dry
- Never share your shoes or socks with anyone
- Change your socks daily and wash them with very hot water
- Apply anti fungal daily
- Keep your fee clean and your toenails short
- Change your sneakers, shoes and socks often to avoid a reoccurrence of the fungals

Uses

- on children under 2 years of age unless directed by a doctor
When using this product avoid contact with the eyes
Stop use and ask a doctor if
- irritation occurs
- there is no improvement within 4 weeks (for athlete’s foot and ringworm) or 2 weeks (for jock itch)
Keep out of reach of children.If swallowed, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center right away.
Directions
- wash affected area and dry thoroughly
- apply a thin layer over affected area twice daily (morning and night)
- supervise children in the use of this product
- for athlete’s foot, pay special attention to spaces between the toes, wear well fitting, ventilated shoes and change shoes and socks at least once daily
- for athlete’s foot and ringworm, use daily for 4 weeks; for jock itch, use daily for 2 weeks
- if condition persists longer, ask a doctor
- this product is not effective on the scalp or nails
